Sam Iannone’sPortfolio

I'm Sam, from Arvada, Colorado, and I'm now at the University of Colorado Boulder as a Leeds Scholar, double majoring in Entrepreneurship in Tech and General Engineering through the Integrated Business and Engineering program. I'm driven by innovation, creativity, and community impact, and I love building things that solve real problems.

I co-founded Iannone‑Myers Engineering, which builds biomedical devices for NASA, including otoscope and retinoscope adapters for ear and eye exams aboard the ISS and on future Artemis missions. We've been NASA HUNCH international finalists two years running (2025 and 2026), one of just 30 teams chosen from over 4,000, and we've delivered six devices to Johnson Space Center for flight-surgeon testing. I'm also co-founder and lead engineer of AvAlert, a handheld avalanche risk-assessment device that pairs onboard sensors with trained AI, named Jefferson County's Exemplary Math Capstone Project for 2026. And I founded Sleeper, a ski media and clothing brand known for cinematic films and creative design.

At CU, I'm a Junior Analyst with Leeds Consulting Group, an Analyst for the AI Club, and a Faculty Data Automation Intern for the Badami Office of Experiential Learning. Off campus, I'm an Executive Assistant for The Iannone Group at Compass, the #4 real estate team in Boulder by volume. Read more about my academics here.

I graduated from Ralston Valley High School as valedictorian, ranked first of 467, and received the Colorado School of Mines Medal of Achievement in Math and Science. Service is close to my heart: I co-founded and serve as Director of Operations for JABS Athletics, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit bringing free tennis and soccer to over 300 kids across 100+ families with a team of 35 coaches. Read more about my volunteer work here. When I'm not working, you'll find me on the tennis court, skiing the back bowls at Winter Park, or filming outdoor short films.
